As the umbrella body for WASH-focused civil society organisations, UWASNET has developed this strategic document to guide collective action across Uganda. The strategy outlines shared priorities, objectives, and approaches that reflect the diverse yet unified voice of CSOs in contributing to sustainable WASH outcomes.

Positioning Civil Society at the Centre

The strategy promotes alignment with national sector policies while reinforcing the unique strengths that civil society brings to the table—community proximity, innovation, and accountability. It encourages increased engagement in planning, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting processes.

Fostering Synergy and Collaboration

Through this strategy, UWASNET fosters collaboration between member organisations, government bodies, and development partners. It lays the foundation for strategic synergies that advance universal access to safe water, improved sanitation, and hygiene for all Ugandans.
